Society interprets beauty as being young, famous and wealthy. Advancements in medical science have made people at the prime of their years look young and beautiful a reality. Look everywhere and you can see pictures of beautiful young looking people pasted on the walls, magazines and just every TV show there is to be seen. This in turn has left people feeling inadequate and dissatisfied with their personal appearance. People have forgotten the importance of aging gracefully and have left themselves concerned with how to stop the hands of time from affecting their body. People have misconstrued the notion of beauty that they have regarded aging as something that needs to be cured and not something that should be accepted. Nobody can stop the body from aging, we can certainly delay it but there will come a time that no amount of facelifts or medication can prevent wrinkles from appearing on our face. Growing old is not a negative thing but is a symbol of wisdom earned through years of experience. One of the pictures that come into our mind when we think about old age is our grandma shining in the radiance of her years marked by fine lines [...]

Why are people so occupied with the subject of aging and its common signs? In 2005 “Avon” did a survey and found that young girls, age 14-24 were already concerned with aging and how to avoid this problem. They claimed to have seen such things as dry flaky chapped skin, sunken under eyes and wrinkles and fine lines. The whole world has been consumed says many historians and not just “Avon.” The search for the fountain of youth can be traced from the 3rd century with Alexander Romance to modern times with the mystical and very handsome David Copperfield. David Copperfield in 2006 bought a group of islands off the Bahamas claiming they held the fountain of youth. He paid 50 million for his islands. He stated, “the waters had magical, life altering healing powers” Now is this David the magician and illusionist or is this David the businessman? There are so many ads that promise us eternal beauty from creams and lotions to ultrasound facials. As the world becomes so consumed with beauty, we must step back and ask our self if we are truly taking care of our self or are we simply opting to go the surgery [...]

Many women fear the appearance of aging worse than just about any other cosmetic problem associated with their face. Crows’ feet, tiny lines at the corner of a woman’s eyes, are often the first sign of aging, and one of the most common reasons for cosmetic surgery. However, there is nothing that says a home remedy cannot be an adequate substitute for a facelift in this case, and some of these at-home treatments work just as well as surgery without all of the dangerous side effects or hefty price tags. Let’s face facts, we all age, and aging takes a toll on our bodies. When we spend the majority of our time outdoors, these signs of aging become more apparent much earlier in life (around the 30-year mark instead of closer to 40). Make sure to use a cream that offers glycolic acid, which encourages the growth of skin cells that are fresh and new, replacing wrinkles. [...]
