One of the first spots on the face for wrinkles to appear is around the corners of the mouth, those little creases we so often call “laugh lines.” The shapes our mouth takes effect the progression of these wrinkles, such as smiling and frowning. Of course, this isn’t something we want to stop doing. Our mouth is a key player in our ability to express our mood and feelings. There are many treatments available that help reduce the appearance of these wrinkles. This effect is relative to the way the skin is moved during a surgical face lift and is also relative to the placement of Botox and collagen injections.

For those who would like to avoid surgery or foreign injection, there are some home remedies you can try that might help you reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the mouth. It is best to keep in mind that this may not work for everyone and is usually designed to conceal only fine creases.

Rice & Rosewater paste is great to help rejuvenate the skin temporarily. If used as part of a skin care regimen, the effects may seemĀ permanent, but will gradually fade if the treatment is stopped. It requires only three ingredients and perhaps a half an hour of your day to use rice and rosewater paste. This should be made immediately before use in order to yield the best results.

Mix together one cup of rice powder. Add equal parts milk and rosewater, but only enough to create a thick paste. Mix it together until it is textured just a bit thicker than smooth peanut butter, and then apply to any visible wrinkles. Let the paste sit for about twenty minutes, or until it begins to dry out and cake. Splash cold water over the paste, rinse it off and then wash your face with a gentle soap and warm water. The skin will appear taut, with wrinkles having dissipated considerably.

This treatment generally lasts about twenty four to forty eight hours following application, a good reason to make it part of your daily skin care regimen. Before you consider cosmetic surgery, try this treatment!
